We believe Potenza is a true champion of the carpfishing rods in its price category. Basically, it is a rod that provides specifications that are usually found on more expensive models.
In the structure of this rod we combined several types of carbon. On the outside is high modulus low resin carbon 3k and the inner layers have chosen the type of unidirectional (UD). Unidirectional carbon is the most resistant to the effort and the high modulus (1k and 3k) is lighter and stiffer. In other words Potenza has a powerful internal structure and on outside is wrapped for reinforceing in high modulus type of carbon
Beyond technical and constructive specifications Potenza has a progresive fast action and 3.75 lbs test curve. Due to the powerful butt rod section and tip progresive recovery Potenza is recommended as a dedicated heavy leads, PVA bags and method feeders rod. Loading gradually progressive action rod, correcting any shortcomings technique of the fisherman. We are convinced that many anglers will find Potenza as a rod that can rely and which would quickly make a good team.
Potenza is standard equiped with DPS 18mm reel seat fitted between anodised black metal collars. Also, the rod ends with a black metal cap colored by anodizing.
The finish is matt with carbon blank exposed. This type of finish has several major advantages:
* Do not allow water to infiltrate under the surface layer as happens in the case of lacquered rods arriving in time to have those white patches
* It is more durable because it can not be scratched easily
* Shows the quality of carbon from which the rod is manufactured. Many expensive rods use unidirectional carbon instead of high modulus 1k or 3k because it is much cheaper. Also you will find rods with a carbon pattern paint applied to mimic those specific squares 1k or 3k high modulus carbon.
We chose to highlight important areas by blue metal threads produced by Gudebrod, the US leader in the field. Metallic reflections and changing color tones depending on light intensity offers elegance and special appearance to the rod. Between threads we laquered the blank for glossy and depth visual effect.
Potenza is equipped with double foot SiC ring guides with titanium gray color metallic frame and antitangle 16mm tip ring to eliminate the risk of mainline tangle on tip during powerful casts.
Those who tested Potenza reached constantly 170m with 120g lead. Although not a thoroughbred distance rod Potenza is doing more than just honorable with casting on distance.
Being a rod with a test curve of 3.75 lbs the recommended loading weight is between 4 and 5oz (112-140g). If you want to cast at greater distances our suggestion is to not increase the lead weight, as many fishermen are tempting, but to try learn some casting technique tricks. You will notice that without too much effort you will gain a few meters on every cast and rod qualities will keep much longer because you will not overload it. This issue is called 'premature aging of blank' and is not a manufacturing defect but the result of improper use
